A drum dumplin is a hand-held percussion instrument of Asian origin that is played by twisting the hands and allowing the attached wooden beads to hit the sides of the drum. They are often used in religious ritual as well as a noise making toy.
Some traditions believe that the sound of the dumplin can clear a space of negative spirits or energy. The dumplin is small and light and requires no skill to play, making it perfect for beginners. This piece was handmade in Bali.
