Each of the four sides of this votive holder contain an ornate image of the Sri Yantra Chakra.
The Sri Yantra Chakra is a mystical emblem used in the Shri Vidya school of Hinduism. It consists of nine interlocking triangles – four upward pointing ones representing Shiva, the masculine Creator and Destroyer, and five downward pointing ones representing Shakti, the feminine creative energy that flows through the universe.
These triangles radiate outwards from the central point, known as the bindu, which represents the cosmos in its unmanifested state, or the point at which creation begins.
The Sri Yantra depicted here also contains the colors of the seven main chakras, with Root pointing upwards toward Shiva, and Crown reaching down to Shakti.
As you burn your votive, the image illuminates to create a warm, colorful stained-glass effect, allowing you to meditate on the image with ease.
