Himalayan salt is rock salt (halite) mined from the Punjab region of modern Pakistan. The salt often has a pinkish tint due to mineral impurities. Pink Himalayan salt is used in some bath salts, which claim to improve skin conditions and soothe sore muscles. Himalayan sea salt contains over 84 minerals and trace elements, including calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron.
