Orishas are spirits that appear in the Yoruba religion and African diaspora religions. They are turned into human forms to help humanity.

Elegua means “master of force” in the Yoruba language. He was the first Orisha to be created. He is associated with thresholds and crossroads, both physical and spiritual. He sees in all directions and acts as a communicator between the earthly and divine realms.  He is often depicted holding a set of keys that give him access to the past, present, and future.

Elegua can be invoked to help you find roads: opportunities, paths, and careers. Figures of Elegua are often placed in homes behind the entrances to guard what goes in and out of your space.
